The John Lewis Partnership is launching its largest-ever festive season recruitment campaign, hiring 12,500 seasonal staff to support its John Lewis and Waitrose stores.
This year’s hiring target is 4,100 roles more than last year. Waitrose plans to add 7,700 workers across 300 stores, including roles for supermarket assistants, night shifts and delivery drivers.
Meanwhile, recruitment has begun for 2,000 temporary positions across John Lewis’s 34 department stores, while 2,800 supply chain roles are also being filled through agencies to manage heightened online shopping.
John Lewis has already reported a surge in early Christmas shopping, with strong demand for holiday goods and decorations.
