Fenix Resources Ltd expects significant increase to iron ore tonnage

Fenix Resources Ltd expects significant increase to iron ore tonnage

Fenix Resources Ltd (ASX:FEX) chairman John Welborn joins Proactive’s Tylah Tully ahead of his appearance at IMARC 2024 to discuss the key messages the company is delivering at this year’s conference.

Fenix Resources operates a fully integrated mining and logistics business focused on high-quality iron ore production and transportation. The company’s 100% owned Newhaul Road Logistics handles the transport of iron ore to Geraldton, where the Newhaul Port Logistics division manages storage and loading operations. Fenix's port facilities at Geraldton can store over 400,000 tonnes and load more than 5 million tonnes annually.

Fenix’s assets in the mid-west of Western Australia include the Iron Ridge mine, the Beebyn-W11 deposit, the Twin Peaks and Shine Iron Ore Mines, along with rail sidings at Ruvidini and Perenjori. The Newhaul Road Logistics fleet supports the movement of materials to port, while Newhaul Port Logistics operates bulk material storage at Geraldton Port.

The company’s flagship Iron Ridge Iron Ore Mine, 360 kilometres northeast of Geraldton, produces 1.4 million tonnes of high-grade iron ore annually. Production started in December 2020. Fenix plans to significantly boost output with the restart of Shine Iron Ore Mine and the Beebyn-W11 project, expected to add 1.5 million tonnes per annum starting from late 2024 and early 2025, respectively.
