Soma Gold announces promising channel sample results from Colossa Mine

Soma Gold Corp. (TSX-V:SOMA, OTCQX:SMAGF) has reported promising channel sample results from the Colossa Mine, part of the Machuca project in Antioquia, Colombia.

During recent exploration, five channel samples were collected across four levels of the mine.

The most significant result was from sample CHU201045, which showed 1 meter at 29.83 grams per ton (g/t) gold, including a higher-grade interval of 0.45 meters at 66.28 g/t gold.

Other notable findings included 1 meter at 4.11 g/t gold, with a 0.35-meter section grading at 11.75 g/t gold, and 1 meter at 3.85 g/t gold, which included 0.2 meters at 18.4 g/t gold.

These high-grade samples, taken from the Colossa vein, indicate that the vein remains open both along its strike and down-dip.

Chris Buchanan, Soma's vice president of exploration, stated that the area around the Colossa Mine holds significant potential for gold exploration.

“The stream sediment samples in this drainage returned the highest values in the Machuca project, and initial samples of the Colossa vein indicate high-grade gold values,” Buchanan said.

“Our team eagerly awaits the results of the soil samples to advance exploration along this 1.8 km trend.”

The Colossa Mine was recently identified by Soma’s exploration team during stream sampling in the northern portion of the Machuca project.

Soma's exploration team is currently conducting a soil survey over a large grid that includes the Aparecida Mine and the 1.8-kilometer trend between the Colossa and El Futuro Mines. The survey aims to map the extent of the Colossa vein and uncover new veins hidden beneath dense jungle.

Additional exploration activities are planned for late Q4 2024 and early Q1 2025, including a 500-meter diamond drilling program at the Colossa Mine set to start in late 2024.
