Solstice Gold Corp. (TSX-V:SGC) announced the mobilization of crews to conduct a Alpha IP survey at its Strathy Gold Project in the Temagami Greenstone Belt in Ontario.
The company will complete a 15-line-kilometer survey using a next-generation wireless, high-definition Alpha IP technique.
According to Solstice, the advanced technology delivers higher-density data points than conventional induced polarization (IP) methods and can be deployed without the need for line cutting.
The survey is designed to target the down-dip extension of the historic Leckie Gold Deposit and a system of structures northwest of the deposit, spanning several kilometers. Additionally, the survey will cover gold showings at Goward Lake, where historical drilling intercepts have been reported.
“Our Strathy Gold Project, located in the prolific Abitibi Subprovince, is in a classic Archean orogenic gold setting but has been off limits to modern exploration for much of its history,” Solstice chair David Adamson told investors.
“There is a marked cluster of gold deposits and also base metal mineralization on and adjacent to our project which responds well to IP where surveyed. However, what we regard as the most prospective target area, which extends down dip and west of known gold mineralization of the Leckie Gold Deposit, has not been explored using IP or any other modern ground based geophysical survey method.”
Results from the survey are expected in October and will be incorporated into existing data to guide an initial phase of diamond drilling.
The results from the Alpha IP survey will inform Solstice's winter drill program for 2024-25, which aims to test newly identified targets and refine exploration strategies for Strathy.
