Mt Malcolm Mines NL (ASX:M2M) has poured its first gold doré bar from a bulk sampling program at the Golden Crown Prospect in Western Australia.
Inaugural pour
The inaugural production includes two gold doré bars with a combined weight of 13.85 ounces (431 grams). The pour was conducted at a nearby gravity processing facility managed by Blockchain Resources Pty Ltd, using Gravity Recoverable Gold (GRG) methods.
The bars were processed from an initial parcel of 167 tonnes of high-grade material discovered at Golden Crown during an exploration campaign.
Of 30 rock chip samples analysed, the highest recorded assay was 458.39 g/t gold, while 11 samples returned assays more than 5 g/t gold, all of which points to the high-grade nature of the deposit.
Visible gold in rock chips
MGM observed visible gold in rock chip samples, particularly within zones of iron oxide (gossanous mineralisation) and quartz veins, all of which give it confidence in the high-grade nature of the deposit.
Excavation at the Golden Crown bulk sampling area, within a 50-metre long and 15-metre wide mineralised corridor, has reached a depth of around nine metres.
The company plans to double down, further excavating deeper mineralised material – which is expected to contain higher gold grades, according to grade control drilling data.
Ongoing bulk sampling works at Golden Crown prospect.
This bulk sampling program is a critical part of M2M’s strategy to assess and optimise metallurgical recovery and mining parameters at the Golden Crown Prospect.
Stockpiling graded gold
Additional material is being stockpiled into low-grade (0.5 to 2 g/t gold) and medium-grade (2 to 5 g/t gold) categories, with M2M currently exploring options to monetise these stockpiles.
The head grade and tailings from the processed material have been submitted to Intertek for fire assay analysis and the results, expected within a month, will determine the gold recovery percentage and evaluate the economic potential of the remaining tailings.
