Strickland Metals grows Horse Well Gold Camp potential with high-grade extensional results

Strickland Metals Ltd (ASX:STK) continues to build the potential of Horse Well Gold Camp at the Yandal Gold Project in Western Australia with more hits in step-out drilling revealing extensions to existing mineralisation.

At the Bronco deposit, STK identified high-grade plunging gold shoots with the broader shear zone, grading up to 3.2 metres at 8 g/t gold from 81 metres.

At Marwari deposit, the company confirmed its revised understanding of mineralisation positioning – the gold system extends a further 260 metres along strike to the north than previously thought.

The Marawi Trend now stretches over 1.6 kilometres in strike with much of that area untested by drilling.

Results from this latest drilling program will feed into an updated mineral resource estimate (MRE) slated for 2025.

“Exciting growth potential”

“These latest assays from our 2024 drilling campaign continue to build the picture of a camp-scale gold system with exciting growth potential at Horse Well,” Strickland Metals managing director Paul L’Herpiniere said.

“Step-out drilling continues to intersect significant gold mineralisation at both the Bronco and Marwari deposits, with our new interpretation of the orientation of the mineralised lodes helping to refine our drilling approach.

“Strickland has completed around 20,000 metres of focused reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling at Horse Well during 2024, with drilling now completed within the limits of our current heritage clearances.

“This provides us with an opportunity to pause drilling, step back and commence work on detailed interpretation of all the drilling data while also commencing work on an updated MRE.”

L’Herpiniere said the work was well and truly underway for an updated MRE, which Strickland expects to complete in the second quarter of 2025.

“The data gained from the 2024 program will also be invaluable in helping us to plan the next phase of drilling commencing in early 2025, where we have budgeted for another 20,000 metres to help drive further resource growth,” he continued.

“These results continue to reinforce the significant potential of the Horse Well Gold Camp, and our broader Yandal Project, as an exciting growth and value creation opportunity in the heart of one WA’s premier gold mining districts, right on the doorstep of Northern Star’s Jundee gold mine.”

Drilling results of note

Results of interest from the Bronco deposit included a higher-grade plunging shoot of gold mineralisation, returning 18.5 metres at 1.7 g/t gold from 81 metres, including 3.2 metres at 8.0 g/t.

Strickland also extended mineralisation at the Konik Lode a further 100 metres along strike to the northwest with step-out drilling results of 16 metres at 1.2 g/t gold from 146 metres, including 3 metres at 4.6 g/t.

Bronco continues to demonstrate a bulk-tonnage mining opportunity below the high-grade oxide mineralisation, with broad results of 62.3 metres at 0.9 g/t gold from 114 metres, including 3.1 metres at 3 g/t.

At Marwari, STK confirmed its revised model for the deposit’s orientation with a result of 12 metres at 5.4 g/t gold from 109 metres, including 4 metres at 8.4 g/t, and extended mineralisation 260 metres north with 28 metres at 1 g/t from 16 metres, including 4 metres at 3.8 g/t.

At this stage, Strickland has completed all drilling within the limits of current heritage clearances for the project – the company will now undertake a detailed review and interpretation of drilling data gained and begin a resource evaluation.

STK believes the Horse Well Gold Camp’s position within a major anticline, with the majority of the prospective northern area of the current deposits being open and untested by deeper drilling, provides a clear focus for resource growth.
