Ocean Power Technologies Inc (NYSE-A:OPTT) announced it has appointed Remah International Group as its distributor in the UAE, marking a significant development in the company's expansion within the Middle East's defense and security sector.
The agreement enables collaboration between the two companies to promote, sell, and service OPT's range of solutions, including WAM-V Unmanned Surface Vehicles, the Next Generation Powerbuoy, and AI-enabled Merrows.
OPT believes integrating its solutions with RIG’s leading position in the UAE will drive the adoption of autonomous ocean security solutions in the region.
RIG, known for its longstanding service to the UAE Armed Forces and its strong local presence, will leverage its sales and marketing capabilities to reach various defense and security clients.
The collaboration also includes plans to establish a local maintenance and support framework, utilizing RIG’s service capabilities.
OPT CEO Philipp Stratmann described the opportunity to work with RIG as a “landmark achievement” in the company’s mission to deploy its products and solutions globally.
