Europa and Union Jack say they’re aware of challenge to Wressle planning

Europa Oil & Gas (Holdings) Plc (AIM:EOG) and Union Jack Oil PLC (AIM:UJO, OTCQB:UJOGF) have responded to media speculation concerning a potential legal challenge to the planning permission for the Wressle well site in North Lincolnshire.

Both companies are key stakeholders in the development, with Europa holding a 30% interest and Union Jack a 40% interest.

The legal challenge in question involves the North Lincolnshire Council’s decision to grant an extension for long-term oil production and construction at the Wressle site.

Europa and Union Jack both individually confirmed their awareness of a letter sent to the council, which signals an intention to challenge the permission granted.

The companies have indicated that further announcements will be made when appropriate.
