Lunnon Metals confirms high-grade gold opportunity at Lady Herial with grab sample results

Lunnon Metals Ltd (ASX:LM8, OTC:LNMLF) continues to prove up the gold opportunity at the Lady Herial prospect, now a key part of its Kambalda Gold and Nickel Project (KGNP) in Western Australia.

High gold grades uncovered

Recent sampling of prospecting workings 120 metres southeast of recent drilling has returned high gold grades, confirming both the exciting gold opportunity and previous samples collected in 2016 when Lunnon Metals was a private entity.

Managing director Edmund Ainscough said: "Lunnon Metals exploration and geology manager Aaron Wehrle and I completed a lot of rock chip and grab sampling of the historical workings in the Foster area when we were a private company in joint venture with Gold Fields Ltd.

“Fast forward eight years and it’s a case of ‘back to the future’, just as the gold price approaches A$4,000 per ounce.

“So, it has been exciting to see the gold grades for these grab samples strengthen the potential for a further structure adjacent to our recent gold drilling success at Lady Herial.

“The next drill program is about to kick off and will not only look to confirm the better zones from the last program, it will also seek to extend those zones if possible and help determine whether a series of stacked structures are present underneath Lady Herial.”

The results include assays of 6.24 g/t, 5.06 g/t and 3.06 g/t gold.

These findings follow up on those historical sampling from the same area, which previously returned assays of 2.57 g/t and 3.61 g/t gold in 2016.

Drilling on the horizon

Lunnon Metals is looking to kick off a drilling campaign to explore the potential for these surface workings to be the expression of a stacked structure within the Lady Herial system.

The program will also test new areas south and east of recent high-grade intersections, which include an impressive result of 23 metres at 16.61 g/t gold from surface in drill hole FOS24RC_056.

In addition to the grab sample results, a re-assay of a 2021 diamond drill hole (FOS21DD_001) using the advanced Chrysos PhotonAssay™ technique has considerably improved the grade, with the interval now recorded at 18.09 metres at 3.41 g/t gold.

This method offers increased accuracy in gold assays due to larger sample sizes, enhancing geostatistical support.

With the possibility of parallel stacked structures similar to the nearby Victory Underground mine, Lady Herial is emerging as a high-potential opportunity.

The Hustler structure, also part of this system, is now showing encouraging results that speak to the broader area’s prospectivity, giving the company more fertile gold ground to explore in the coming months.
