Ocean Power Technologies Inc (NYSE-A:OPTT) announced the shipment of a WAM-V Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
This move follows the company's partnership with Unique Group, a UAE-based provider of offshore services and equipment.
The 22-foot WAM-V will be showcased at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) from November 4 to 7.
ADIPEC will host over 2,200 organizations, highlighting the latest advancements in the energy sector.
“We are excited to see the continued increase in demand for our services in the Middle East in general and the UAE specifically,” OPT CEO Philipp Stratmann commented.
“We believe having Unique demonstrate the vehicle to offshore energy companies will further increase our activity levels in this region.”
OPT specializes in innovative maritime solutions that support various sectors, including defense, oil and gas, scientific research, and offshore wind.
