Standard Uranium Ltd (TSX-V:STND, OTCQB:STTDF) has provided an update on its Sun Dog uranium project near Uranium City, Saskatchewan, highlighting exploration success.
Standard's partner Aero Energy has confirmed its Year 2 earn-in option, committing at least $2 million for exploration starting in October 2024.
The company reported that Aero has completed its first drill programs at the Sun Dog and Murmac projects, with 16 drill holes testing 12 targets.
Intervals of anomalous radioactivity were intersected in nine of the 16 holes.
At the Wishbone target, elevated radioactivity was identified in seven of eight drill holes.
The company said this has validated its exploration model targeting basement-hosted vein deposits like those found at the renowned Arrow and Triple R deposits.
It added that the targets explored during the summer 2024 program account for just a small portion of the many identified on the property. The company is collaborating with its option partners to prioritize follow-up work, including additional geophysical surveys and drilling, to further investigate these areas.
"We are thrilled to announce the commitment of our partners at Aero to continued exploration at Sun Dog," Standard Uranium vice president exploration Sean Hillacre said.
"The team and I are very encouraged by the results of the first pass drilling at the Wishbone target. The results provide proof of concept for our exploration model, and we look forward to following up in this area with additional geophysical surveys and drilling to vector into a new high-grade discovery."
Aero Energy holds the option to acquire up to 100% interest in the Sun Dog project through $650,000 in cash payments and $650,000 in shares, distributed over a two-year period.
Additionally, Aero is committed to spending $6.5 million on exploration over three years, with a 10% operator fee applied to expenditures.
