As the end of October approaches, the largest mining conference in Australia is gearing up to showcase nine concurrent conferences covering the entire mining value chain, with a spotlight on sustainability and future tech integration.
The International Mining and Resources Conference 2024 will host more than 370 technical talks, panel discussions and strategic keynote presentations taking place in Sydney across three days from October 29 to October 31.

“We have a lot of international speakers this year,” IMARC event director Sherene Asnasyous said in an interview with Proactive’s Tylah Tully, “including those from Germany, France, Finland, Mongolia and several different parts of Latin America like Peru and Chile.
“This year we have a great foundation of mining speakers, everyone from the CEO of Fortescue and also South32, and operators from different mine sites around Australia and internationally.
“But our greatest addition in terms of speakers this year is junior mining and exploration companies and mid-tier miners that are involved in IMARC.
“Those speakers include companies with projects in exploration, production and development here in Australia, but also from Canada, Mongolia, different parts of Africa and Asia and also the Latin American region.”
Topics under discussion will include ESG initiatives, supply chain transparency, tailings dam management and government permitting with a particular focus on developing a circular economy with the Mining, Metals and Circular Economy Conference – Australia’s first.
