Solis Minerals Ltd (ASX:SLM, TSX-V:SLMN, OTCQB:SLMFF) has mapped out a clear zone of interest at the Cinto Copper Project, hosted along the highly prospective Cenozoic Porphyry Belt of southern Peru, with a magnetometry survey.
The company identified a magnetic anomaly on the batholith (intrusive igneous rock) margin with a 4-kilometre by 1-kilometre zone of high magnetic response – an indicator of porphyry copper mineralisation.
There are also several zones of geological alteration along the southern flank of the anomaly, positioned in a broad area 6 kilometres long and 1 kilometre wide.
Building “exceptional toolbox"
“Cinto has an incredible address on the regional Incapuquio fault system with the giant Toquepala porphyry copper mine only 15 kilometres to the north,” Solis Minerals executive director Mike Parker said.
“The magnetometry survey provides excellent insight into the geology and alteration at Cinto.
“Combined with our previous remote sensing work, and mapping and sampling – including our high-grade copper sample area in the northeast of the permits – we are forming an exceptional toolbox to extract the maximum benefit from our ongoing porphyry exploration.
“We will now conduct further assessment using IP surveys to guide our first-pass drill program.”
The survey also revealed an area of known high-grade copper mineralisation potentially extending to the east – Solis will evaluate each of the new zones for follow-up induced polarisation (IP) survey programs with the goal of accelerating drilling permits for a 2025 program.
