Buru Energy Ltd (ASX:BRU, OTC:BRNGF) is making encouraging progress with the drilling of Rafael Shallow 1 well in EP 428 in Western Australia’s onshore Canning Basin.
On behalf of the Rafael Shallow Joint Venture, Buru reports that following the spud of the well on October 9, 2024, drilling is proceeding to plan at 487 metres measured depth (mRT1) in a 12-1/4” hole.
The company says it expects the 12-1/4” hole section to reach section total depth (TD) at ~710mRT1 at which point the 9-5/8” casing will be run to allow installation of the Blow Out Preventers (BOPs) to allow entry into the target reservoir in an 8-1/2” hole.
