Greatland Gold ticks off Havieron acquisition conditions

Greatland Gold PLC (AIM:GGP, OTC:GRLGF) said it has made considerable progress towards the completion of the conditions required to take 100% ownership of the Havieron and Telfer mines in Western Australia.

In a statement, the junior outlined four approvals or renewals that were granted recently.

Namely, these are Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) approval from the Treasurer of the Commonwealth of Australia for the acquisition, though vendor Newmont’s application is still pending.

Secondly, sign-off has been granted by the Western Australia Minister for Mines and Petroleum to the transfer of relevant mining tenements under the Acquisition.

At the same time, the Telfer Part V licence issued under the Environmental Protection Act 1986 (WA) has been renewed for 10 years.

On 30 September, Greatland shareholders also voted to overwhelmingly approve the acquisition and associated equity raising, with 99.75% of votes cast in favour.

Greatland added that significant progress has also been towards conditions relating to Telfer's Tailings Storage Facility 8.

Completion of the acquisitions this quarter remains the target, said the statement.
