Proactive's Tylah Tully breaks down ‘Just the Facts’ of the latest news from Arovella Therapeutics Ltd (ASX:ALA).
The company has formed a Clinical Advisory Board (CAB) ahead of a key meeting with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The board comprises three leading oncologists who will provide expert guidance as the company prepares to submit an investigational new drug (IND) application and launch its first-in-human Phase 1 trial for CD19-positive haematological malignancies, a group of blood cancers.
The appointed CAB members are:
- Dr Salvatore Fiorenza, consultant haematologist at Epworth Healthcare and cell therapy lead.
- Professor Sattva Neelapu, a pioneer in CAR-T therapy from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
- Dr Debora Barton, an oncologist and non-executive director at Arovella with extensive clinical trial experience.
Arovella highlighted the importance of these key opinion leaders in advancing their novel cell therapy platform. The company aims to develop new and effective treatment options for patients with blood cancers and sees the CAB as a crucial part of that process.
