Heathrow's record summer continues as September numbers soar

Heathrow has reported another record number of passengers to follow a record-busting Summer.

September saw 7.3 million passengers travel through the airport- more than 200,000 more than September in 2023, which was the first time travellers in a month had topped seven million.

On 2 September, Heathrow said 140,500 people landed which was the most ever in a day for the airport.

All summer Heathrow has been announcing new records for passengers with the cumulative total between June and September now at 30 million.

Thomas Woldbye, chief executive, said: “We are closing out our super summer on a high, with over 30 million passengers passing through Heathrow’s doors in the last 4 months.

“Being named the most connected airport and best airport for retail in the world is a testament to the strong relationship we have cultivated with our airlines and retailers.”
