Fidelity Investments has confirmed that over 77,000 customers had personal information compromised in an August data breach.
According to reports, social security numbers and driver's licenses were among the affected data.
The breach occurred between August 17 and August 19, when a third party accessed Fidelity’s systems through two newly established customer accounts.
Fidelity detected the breach on August 19 and terminated access immediately. The firm clarified that no customer accounts or funds were affected.
