ATOME PLC’s path to zero carbon fertiliser - Proactive One2One Investor Forum

ATOME PLC’s path to zero carbon fertiliser - Proactive One2One Investor Forum

ATOME PLC (AIM:ATOM) CEO Olivier Mussat spoke about the company's groundbreaking work in zero-carbon fertiliser development at the Proactive One2One Investor Forum.

ATOME is tackling one of the largest global carbon emitters—fertiliser production—by creating alternatives that rely on green energy. Fertiliser production accounts for 5% of global emissions, and half of it is derived from hydrocarbons like natural gas or coal. Mussat shared that ATOME PLC (AIM:ATOM) has been actively developing projects over the past four years to revolutionise this sector.

“Our first project in Paraguay uses 145MW of hydroelectric power to produce 260,000 tons of zero-carbon fertiliser,” Mussat said, noting how the company’s free trade zone status has bolstered its progress.

Additionally, the strategic partnership with Yara, one of the largest fertiliser companies globally, has secured ATOME PLC a long-term production off-take agreement, which Mussat emphasised as a key milestone.

Beyond the environmental advantages, ATOME PLC aims to deliver zero-carbon fertiliser at competitive or lower costs than conventional methods, making it both a green and profitable solution.

Mussat highlighted Paraguay's stability, significant demand for fertiliser, and abundant hydroelectric power as core advantages for the project’s success.
