Vivos Therapeutics (NASDAQ:VVOS) announced that the American Medical Association (AMA) has granted new CPT codes for the company's Vivos CARE oral medical devices.
Effective January 1, 2025, these codes will streamline insurance coverage and reimbursement for Vivos’ devices, designed to treat obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in both adults and children.
CEO Kirk Huntsman highlighted the significance of the new codes, stating they will allow a wider patient base to access the company's US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-cleared airway remodeling technology.
“Our CARE oral medical devices are the only ones cleared by the US FDA for the treatment of moderate to severe OSA, and these new medical codes will now facilitate coverage and reimbursement by commercial medical insurance payers,” Huntsman said.
“From Vivos’ perspective, we believe this will enable a larger number of patients from most demographics to access our breakthrough, proprietary airway remodeling technology and more effectively treat their OSA.”
He noted that this development comes at a favorable time for the company, as recent regulatory approvals, along with the new alliance-based marketing and distribution model, and the addition of these codes, position Vivos to accelerate revenue growth.
“This AMA approval represents our latest regulatory and reimbursement milestone, following another important approval Vivos received for Medicare coverage just a few months ago,” the CEO said.
