Cora Gold reports encouraging early data from East Senegal gold target

Cora Gold Ltd (AIM:CORA) has announced promising results from a multi-element analysis of its recent drilling at the Tambor gold anomaly in East Senegal.

The company completed a reconnaissance programme at the site, which is part of the larger Madina Foulbé exploration permit. The results show strong potential for gold deposits in the area.

A total of 2,018 samples were analysed using advanced ICP-MS techniques, revealing that gold is linked to an intrusion-related gold system (IRGS), known for its large-scale deposits.

One drill hole showed a promising result of 10 meters containing 4.41 grams per ton of gold at a depth of 41 meters.

The project’s location near several major gold deposits in the Kédougou-Kéniéba Inlier further supports the potential scale of the discovery.

Dr Nick Oliver, a well-known consultant, helped interpret the data, which identified 10 drill targets with distinct geochemical signatures.

More than half of the drill holes ended with mineralisation, suggesting that deeper drilling could reveal even larger gold deposits. Cora Gold plans to use these findings to prioritize future exploration efforts and expand its understanding of the site’s potential.

"Given the size and geometry of the Tambor gold anomaly, coupled with the promising first round drilling results, this analysis work has further enhanced our understanding of the significant gold mineralisation spread out over a large area within the bedrock at Tambor," said CEO Bert Monro.
