Graft Polymer (UK) PLC (LSE:GPL) has chosen Eurofins Discovery to carry out pharmacology testing for its prospective new treatment targeting mental health conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
The testing will evaluate Graft’s aminoindane series, specifically examining its impact on serotonin, dopamine, and noradrenaline - key chemicals involved in mood regulation.
Eurofins, a global drug discovery firm, will begin testing immediately.
This phase follows the successful synthesis of the drug candidates in August and represents a critical milestone for the collaboration between Graft Polymer and Awakn Life Sciences. The results will provide important data on the drug’s potential effectiveness.
"The expertise of Eurofins, combined with our collaborative approach with Awakn, puts us in an excellent position to advance this pre-clinical programme swiftly and effectively," said CEO Anthony Tennyson.
PTSD affects around 20 million people across the US, UK, and Europe.
