Adriatic brings ex-Rio Tinto advisor to board

Adriatic Metals PLC (LSE:ADT1, ASX:ADT, OTCQX:ADMLF) has announced the appointment of Mick Bardella to its board as a non-executive director.

Bardella previously worked as Rio Tinto PLC’s global assurance lead, Xstrata’s head audit partner and advised a host of mining companies whilst at Ernst & Young.

He will chair Adriatic’s audit and risk committee, with his appointment coinciding with non-executive director Sandra Bates’ move to the newly created role of senior independent director.

“I would like to warmly welcome Mick to the board in what is a crucial period for Adriatic,” chairman Michael Rawlinson said in a statement.

This comes as the company moves to advance its Vares silver operation in Bosnia & Herzegovina to commercial production in the coming months.

“Mick brings extensive skills in assurance and governance from his experience with leading global mining companies,” Rawlinson added.

“His expertise will be a tremendous asset as we move forward with our growth strategy alongside the new management team.”
