International Graphite Ltd (ASX:IG6) continues to build confidence in its graphite resource – the second largest in Australia – with more shallow, high-grade graphite mineralisation revealed in drilling at the Springdale Project in WA.
Diamond drilling at the Central deposit produced exceptional results, once again in-line with Springdale’s very shallow, high-grade nature, grading up to 10.3 metres at 36.3% total graphitic carbon (TGC).
The results continue to confirm the continuity of mineralisation along strike, the grade and overall veracity of IG6’s mineral resource, which will serve as feedstock for the company’s integrated graphite processing mine-to-market strategy.

Clear mineral resource growth potential
“We have said it before, but it bears repeating, it is clear to us that a spectacular graphite deposit is continuing to reveal itself at Springdale,” International Graphite managing director and CEO Andrew Worland said.
“The more we drill at Springdale, the more high-grade, thick, near-surface intercepts of graphite mineralisation we find.
“So many of the key determinants for a low-cost mine are present: shallow overall deposit depth, limited drill and blast, good grades, oxidised material for processing, single product lines – and all in a tier one mining jurisdiction.
“On top of all the positive attributes, the exploration potential for future mineral resource growth is clear to see.”
These graphite hits add to an already growing inventory, underpinned by recent similarly strong results from the Mason Bay deposit of up to 3.1 metres at 26.5% TGC.

Assay results of note from this round of drilling at Springdale Central include:
- 11.1 metres at 16.9% TGC from 23.1 metres downhole;
- 13.4 metres at 19.2% TGC from 35.3 metres, including 2.9 metres at 31.4% from 38.8 metres;
- 10.3 metres at 36.3% TGC from 41.8 metres;
- 3.8 metres at 21.3% TGC from 17.2 metres, including 3.1 metres at 25.5% from 17.9 metres;
- 9.7 metres at 6.2% TGC from 75.8 metres; and
- 28.7 metres at 12.1% TGC from 93 metres, including 4.1 metres at 23.3% from 112 metres.
