Tribe Technology PLC (AIM:TRYB) has unveiled preliminary results of its reverse circulation (RC) sample system technology, showing a substantial improvement in sample quality.
The system was tested by Master Drilling Group Ltd and an undisclosed ‘Tier 1’ mining client.
Tribe highlighted that providing an improved quality of geological samples would be a critical factor for miners.
"These preliminary performance results from our Tier 1 mining company client are very pleasing and encouraging,” chief executive Charlie King said.
“It is important to know miners can make billion-dollar decisions on the data provided from drilling, increasing the quality of the data can assist the miners in their mine planning and optimisation.
He added: “These performance proof points will drive commercialisation of the technology as we demonstrate its capability in improving geological sample quality."
The findings
The new Tribe Technology system achieved 94% of samples in the "good/green" category, highlighted as a major improvement compared to the 47% achieved by incumbent systems.
Only 6% of samples were classified as "At Risk/Amber" and 0% in the "failed/red" category.
Also, Tribe said that the average ‘split mass difference’ for its system was 4%, compared to approximately 15% for existing systems which it noted further underlining the improved consistency in sample quality.
