Oil & Gas

Serica Energy reveals bumper volumes from Bittern well

Serica Energy PLC (AIM:SQZ) told investors its Bittern B6 well, in the North Sea, is now producing oil and gas at a combined gross rate of around 8,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd).

The well, a side-track drilled from an existing hole in the Triton field earlier this year, is flowing back to the Triton floating production vessel (FPSO). Serica’s share of the production is around 5,000 boepd.

Meanwhile, the company noted that drilling and well completion work is now done for the Gannet GE-05 well, with data gathered during drilling showing positive results.

Production is expected to start from Gannet GE-05 in November.

With the addition of the Bittern B6 wel, Serica’s portfolio production now exceeds 50,000 boepd, and the company said it is positioned to meet guidance for the year.

Drilling will continue, meanwhile, with a rig now moving to Serica’s 10% owned Guillemot field.
