Morning news wrap: Reckitt Benckiser, BHP Billiton, Cable & Wireless, Amec

In the FTSE 100, Reckitt Benckiser (LSE: RB) reported on its full year results, saying net revenues climbed 18% year on year, while earnings per share were up 26%.

BHP Billiton (LSE: BLT) released its interims, reporting a 17.5% decline in revenues to US$24.57 billion.

Cable & Wireless (LSE: CW) has completed the pricing of US$0.5 billion aggregate principal amount of notes due 2017, which will bear interest at an annual rate of 7.75%.

In AIM, Kyrgyzstan focused gold explorer and developer Chaarat Gold Holdings (AIM: CGH) reported positive results from two drives and eight drill holes in the underground section of project area C5300 at the Chaarat property.

North Sea explorers Xcite Energy (AIM: XEL) has exchanged a letter of intent with Applied Drilling Technology International to provide a heavy duty, deep water jack-up drilling unit to undertake the drilling and testing of the 9/3b-R well on its Bentley field. The company has also signed an agreement with oil and gas services company and FTSE 100 constituent Amec (LSE: AMEC) to help bring Bentley into production.
