Resourcing Tomorrow divisional director Andrew Thake speaks with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the upcoming Resourcing Tomorrow event at the Business Design Centre in London from December 3rd to 5th, 2024.
The theme for this year’s event is “Breaking Out of the Echo Chamber,” aiming to expand beyond the mining industry’s usual conversations. The event will feature over 300 speakers, including notable figures such as Mark Bristow from Barrick Gold, Ross Beaty from Equinox Gold (TSX:EQX), and Frank Giustra of the Fiore Group.
Thake highlighted the inclusion of more OEMs such as Volvo Cars and Hyundai, alongside new investors like ESG funds. A unique aspect this year is a government roundtable at the London Stock Exchange and the introduction of electric cars on the exhibition floor. This year’s event is not just about industry veterans, but also aims to attract the next generation of mining professionals, tackling the industry's talent shortage.
