Liberty Star Uranium & Metals Corp. (OTC:LBSR) (dba Liberty Star Minerals) announced promising high-grade gold assay results from its channel sampling program at the Red Rock Canyon Gold Project in Arizona.
The latest assays from the project, part of the larger Hay Mountain Project in Cochise County, indicate significant near-surface gold mineralization, the company said in a statement.
Channel sampling program yielded several notable gold assay results, including a standout sample that returned a value of 85.8 grams per tonne (g/t).
This sample, collected from a channel measuring one foot wide, is among the highest grades recorded in the area to date, Liberty Star said.
Other results include 38.3 g/t Au from a jasperoid breccia, and a 14-foot-long channel sample demonstrated a weighted average of 0.9 g/t Au over 10 feet, with individual samples reaching up to 1.74 g/t Au.
Liberty Star told investors that these high-grade results suggest that mineralization at Red Rock Canyon is extensive and presents a compelling drill target.
“The information gathered from this work will be added to our 3D modeling software to better understand the emplacement of these lenses,” chief geologist Jim Bryce said.
“This knowledge will be critical when designing our future drilling programs which will test the depth and continuity of the mineralization and allow us to generate a resource to depth on the RRC property.”
The channel samples play a crucial role in delineating the near-surface gold resource and will guide future drilling initiatives.
