Rome Resources brings in advisor Klaus Eckhof as non-executive chair

Rome Resources Plc (AIM:RMR, AIM:RMR) has announced plans to appoint existing advisor Klaus Eckhof as non-executive chairman on its board.

Eckhof is set to take on the role as existing executive chairman Mark Gasson becomes the Democratic Republic of Congo-focused tin explorer’s chief operating officer, Rome said on Monday.

Rome added Eckhof was already a “key advisor,” having been instrumental in the team that discovered the company’s Bisie North tin project, where intensive drilling is ongoing.

Eckhof has over 20 years of experience, having started his career at Mount Edon Gold Mines and founded Democratic Republic of Congo-based Moto Goldmines Ltd and AVZ Minerals Ltd (ASX:AVZ).

“It is a great privilege to announce the proposed appointment of Mr Eckhof to the board of Rome Resources,” chief executive Paul Barrett said.

“He brings with him a deep pool of experience and expertise in both the Democratic Republic of Congo and in mineral exploration.”

Eckhof’s appointment remains subject to approval by Rome’'s nominated adviser and customary due diligence, the company added.
