The ASX closed 0.7% higher today, reaching 8,269.8 points. Over the past five days, the index has risen by 0.73% and is currently 0.19% below its 52-week high.
The Star Entertainment Group was the top-performing stock, rebounding 18% to close at $0.29 per share after a 40% drop on Friday. Karoon Energy followed, rising by 7.19% to $1.56 per share. In contrast, Deep Yellow declined by 4.5%, ending at $1.37 per share with no specific news driving the drop. Nine Entertainment Co also saw a decline, down 3.46% to $1.25 per share.
Sector-wise, eight out of eleven sectors advanced. Energy led the gains with a 2.26% increase, while the Materials sector rose by 1.76%. On the downside, the Communication Services sector was the worst performer, falling by 0.33%.
