Giyani Metals Corp (TSX-V:EMM, OTC:CATPF) earlier this week announced that it has secured a key mining license for its K.Hill project in Botswana.
The approval marks a significant milestone in the development of the company's manganese project.
CEO Charles FitzRoy highlighting the efficiency of the Botswana government in granting the license within just nine months.
“It’s incredibly fast, especially in the mining world,” FitzRoy said. “I think it speaks volumes about Botswana's commitment to supporting responsible mining projects. The swift approval process really helps keep things on track for us.”
The next major step for the company will be completing the definitive feasibility study (DFS) early next year. This study will pave the way for production, which the company targets to begin by the end of the year.
FitzRoy, who joined the company recently, brings significant experience in corporate development, having previously led Bradda Head Lithium through rapid growth and key offtake agreements.
With critical minerals at the forefront of global energy transitions, Giyani Metals is well-positioned to play a crucial role in the battery supply chain. FitzRoy emphasized the company’s commitment to ESG principles, focusing on reducing environmental impacts and ensuring that the project benefits local communities in Botswana.
Giyani Metals is working on its DFS and advancing offtake discussions.
