Cranswick PLC (LSE:CWK) said results this year will be at the top end of expectations after trading in the first half turned out better than expected.
Shares in the sausage and pork products specialist jumped 5% to a new all-time high of 4,960p, as the FTSE 250 group added that the outcome for the year would now be at the top end of expectations.
Volumes increased in the core food business while there was a good performance from the pig farm operation.
Forecasts ahead of the interim update were for adjusted profit before tax in a range between £179.2 million and £191.7 million.
Yorkshire-based Cranswick is now valued at around £2.7 billion.
