Dotz Nano CEO Sharon Malka joined Steve Darling from Proactive’s OTC studio in New York City to share announced a major milestone in the development of the company’s DotzEarth technology, successfully completing a lab-scale pilot demonstration of its nano-porous sorbent in a moving bed temperature swing adsorption capture unit. This trial simulated Waste-to-Energy flue gas conditions and elevated DotzEarth’s Technology Readiness Level (TRL) to TRL 4-5, signifying substantial progress toward market readiness.
Malka explained that the lab-scale pilot was designed to verify and validate the performance of Dotz’s proprietary nano-porous sorbent. The testing yielded high recoveries in the continuous flow system, providing confidence for the next scale-up phase of the technology. The test results confirmed the technology's high capacity for CO2 adsorption and superior thermal stability after 140 cycles.
Malka also shared plans to expand testing at industrial scale across sectors like cement, steel, and chemicals. DotzEarth represents a new generation of sorbent technology for carbon capture, with the company’s nano-porous carbon adsorbents demonstrating multiple benefits, including high working capacity, fast kinetics, enhanced selectivity, and reduced regeneration energy. This innovative solution is poised to play a critical role in advancing carbon capture technologies and sustainability efforts.
He emphasized that the US remains a key target for Dotz Nano's solutions, with ongoing discussions with major oil, gas, and chemical industry players. With a focus on securing US capital, Dotz Nano is positioning itself as a pivotal player in decarbonization efforts.
