Clean Power Hydrogen PLC (AIM:CPH2) shares soared more than 45% in Thursday’s deals after announcing the successful Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for its MFE110 electrolyser – a milestone that moves it closer to a commercial rollout.
"The successful FAT of our MFE110 electrolyser marks the most significant milestone in CPH2's history to date,” chief executive Jon Duffy said in a statement.
The company noted that the test was witnessed by Lagan MEICA, the principal contractor, and Arup, representatives of Northern Ireland Water.
It confirmed the system’s operational performance, with the system successfully producing hydrogen and oxygen at the pre-determined commercial specifications,
CPH2 highlighted that the test validates the firm’s membrane-free technology as a competitive alternative to existing electrolyser systems.
Next steps will see the deployment of the MFE110 to Northern Ireland Water for installation and commissioning, where it will begin commercial hydrogen and oxygen production.
“Our new, low cost and highly robust technology solution is proven,” Duffy said.
“This achievement is a true testament to our unwavering commitment to innovation, quality, and safety, and positions us strongly for the next phase of our journey.”
He added: “There is a renewed confidence in the capability of our technology to address the significant market opportunity.
“We will now turn our attention to the commercial roll-out and delivering the MFE220 through our own manufacture and of our license holders."
