Standard Uranium expands Corvo uranium project in Saskatchewan’s Athabasca Basin

Standard Uranium Ltd (TSX-V:STND, OTCQB:STTDF) announced that it has expanded the Corvo uranium exploration project in the eastern Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan, via staking.

The company said it has added three new mineral claims to the project, increasing it to 12,265 hectares from 7,989 hectares.

The expansion adds 14.8 kilometers of exploration strike length, focused on three promising magnetic low trends that coincide with electromagnetic conductors and cross-cutting faults, presenting highly prospective shallow drill targets.

The company plans to conduct a modern electromagnetic survey in the fall of 2024 to refine and upgrade these targets.

Historical results from the project indicate significant uranium mineralization along an 800-meter strike length between two drill holes, with additional surface samples from the Manhattan Showing yielding up to 59,800 ppm uranium.

"With this significant expansion of the Corvo project, we continue to grow and diversify our portfolio of projects and create yet another highly attractive uranium project open to joint venture or earn-in option," Standard Uranium VP exploration Sean Hillacre said.

"We look forward to the transactional and exploration upside we can derive from the Corvo project through a modern EM survey this year and defining drill targets for 2025."

Further, the move offers the company increased exposure to the southeastern Athabasca uranium district, providing more opportunities for joint ventures or land deal opportunities.

With the expansion of the Corvo project, Standard Uranium said it has ownership of 11 exploration properties totalling 220,432 acres across the Athabasca Basin.
