The company has has received a non-binding letter of interest (LOI) from the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) for potential debt financing of up to USD 31 million.

The funding is intended to support the Australian Vanadium Project, located in Western Australia, which includes a mine, processing plants, and a vanadium electrolyte manufacturing facility in Perth.

The financing remains subject to EXIM’s due diligence, internal policies, and board approval, with the condition that Australian Vanadium increases US-sourced content within the project, such as equipment and services.

The company has highlighted that support from agencies like EXIM indicates the advanced stage and significance of the project.

Australian Vanadium is also working with a variety of export credit agencies and commercial banks to secure further financial backing. Vanadium, a critical mineral, is crucial for battery technologies, with countries globally seeking secure supply chains.

Australian Vanadium’s feasibility study is progressing, with key milestones like the finalisation of the mining plan and optimisation of infrastructure being reached. Additionally, the company has completed successful testing of its vanadium flow battery, set for installation in Kununurra.
