Andrada Mining Ltd (AIM:ATM, OTC:AFTTF) earlier this week shared the latest results from its exploration program at the Brandberg West license, located in Namibia.
Tim Marais, head of exploration, discussed the results in a video interview with Proactive, after the company’s findings showed high grades of tin, tungsten, and copper, located in closely stacked quartz veins.
Q: Andrada Mining has shared some exciting results from Brandberg West. Can you give us an overview of these findings?
Tim Marais: Certainly - the Brandberg West license is located in Namibia, and it spans 35,000 hectares. Our recent exploration program has uncovered high grades of tin, tungsten, and copper in closely stacked quartz veins. These results are promising because they offer a great opportunity for developing the project.
Q: How do these results compare to your other projects, like UIS?
Marais: Brandberg West is quite different from UIS, which is a large, low-grade deposit. Here, at Brandberg West, we’re dealing with high-grade, closely stacked quartz veins that host tin, tungsten, and now copper. This offers us a different approach in terms of mining and processing.
Q: What does Andrada plan to do next with these minerals?
Marais:
We have plans to concentrate these minerals using both traditional gravity separation methods and modern ore sorting technology. This way, we can focus on getting high-grade materials efficiently. As I mentioned before, while we have these high-grade veins, we could leverage this and do large opencast mining, but still feed the plant with a really high-grade material that's been sorted by modern technology.
Q: Andrada also announced a strategic lithium partnership with SQM (NYSE:SQM) recently. How does that tie into your broader critical minerals strategy?
Marais:
SQM is a mining license that's spodumene-dominant, and we're looking at large pegmatites there. Brandberg West, on the other hand, contains vein-hosted tin, tungsten, and now copper. So, while they are different metals, they all contribute to our broader critical minerals basket, positioning Andrada as a large producer from multiple areas, supplying multiple critical minerals.
Q: What are the next steps for both the Brandberg West and SQM projects?
Marais:
Regarding Brandberg West, we still have the second batch of drill results due to be released soon. As for the SQM partnership, we are entering the first phase of evaluating the license and finding extensions of the mineralization. After that, we’ll proceed with infill drilling to work towards establishing a mineral resource.
Q: Thanks for sharing these updates, Tim. What should investors keep an eye on in the near future?
Marais:
Investors can look forward to more drill results from Brandberg West and ongoing developments with the SQM lithium project. Both projects are key parts of our critical minerals strategy, and they could be significant catalysts for Andrada’s growth moving forward.
