Standard Uranium reports encouraging drill results from Canary uranium project

Standard Uranium Ltd (TSX-V:STND, OTCQB:STTDF) announced that it has received a summary of results from its inaugural spring 2024 drill program at its Canary project in northern Saskatchewan revealing promising uranium and pathfinder element findings typical of basement-hosted uranium deposits.

The Canary project, covering 7,302 hectares in the eastern Athabasca Basin, is under an option agreement with Mamba Exploration, which can earn a 75% stake by funding C$6 million in exploration expenses over three years.

The inaugural drill program satisfied the exploration spend for the first year of the option agreement.

Notably, drill holes CAN-24-001 and CAN-24-003 confirmed moderate uranium anomalies, with uranium ratios indicating hydrothermal uranium input.

Multiple zones of elevated uranium were identified in connection with structural features, suggesting a fertile uranium system.

Pathfinder elements like boron were also found in several drill holes, providing valuable insights for future exploration.

Geophysical surveys are planned to refine targets for the next phases of drilling, with the potential for further discovery along underexplored conductor systems.

"Intersecting anomalous uranium and pathfinder elements associated with zones of hydrothermal alteration in a completely untested area on the first of three conductive corridors on the Canary project is very encouraging," Standard Uranium VP of exploration Sean Hillacre commented.

"The technical team and I are excited to continue our exploration efforts on the Project with our partners at Mamba and look forward to outlining and testing additional target areas in Phase II and III drilling."
