Baselode Energy Corp (TSX-V:FIND, OTCQB:BSENF) announced that its latest drilling campaign at the ACKIO uranium prospect in northern Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin has encountered anomalous radioactivity in several drill holes, indicating near-surface uranium mineralization.
Of the 18 holes drilled, nine began encountering radioactivity at depths of less than 50 metres from the surface, with all of the anomalies starting at less than 100 metres.
One drill hole intersected four distinct zones of radioactivity exceeding 5,000 counts per second (cps), one of the most significant findings in this phase.
Seven other drill holes also reported radioactivity above the 5,000 cps threshold.
Most holes revealed composite intervals of anomalous radioactivity ranging from 11 to 42 metres in thickness, spanning five distinct areas of the ACKIO prospect, according to a statement from Baselode.
"ACKIO continues to demonstrate significant growth, with broad intersections of anomalous radioactivity, including zones of high radioactivity across multiple Pods,” said James Sykes, Baselode's CEO.
“This drill program has been successful in expanding the footprint of near-surface mineralization around Pods 1 and 7 and intersecting new zones of higher radioactivity in Pods 6 and 7. We've also improved our confidence in the continuity of mineralization at ACKIO as a whole.”
Baselode’s latest drilling efforts have focused on expanding the known mineralized zones while identifying new areas with strong potential for resource development.
