Baselode Energy Corp (TSX-V:FIND, OTCQB:BSENF) CEO James Sykes presented at the Proactive One2One Investor Forum about the company's ongoing exploration efforts and their strategic focus on shallow uranium deposits outside of the Athabasca Basin.
Sykes highlighted the growing momentum in the nuclear energy sector, citing increased global interest, especially from China, India, and Europe.
He also emphasised Baselode’s unique approach to finding shallow, open-pit uranium deposits, which he believes have the most favourable economic potential.
Sykes shared that Baselode's flagship AQ discovery is characterised by its shallow mineralisation, which starts at just 25 meters below the surface. He explained the importance of this for economic mining, noting that many deeper uranium deposits remain untapped due to high water pressure at greater depths.
“We're looking for shallow, open-pit deposits because we know that’s where the economics are,” Sykes said. Sykes also touched on his background in uranium discovery, highlighting his involvement in discovering over 550 million pounds of uranium, including his work with NexGen Energy.
Additionally, he discussed Baselode’s recent exploration activities and the company's plans to define a mineral resource estimate by the end of the year, as well as expand on existing discoveries at AQ and other promising projects.
