Proteome Sciences sinks as losses rise and CEO departs

Proteome Sciences PLC (AIM:PRM) sank more than 17% as it announced more losses and the resignation of chief executive Mariola Soehngen.

Soehngen has been the boss of the proteomic services group for almost four years, with the company saying that the process of finding a successor is underway.

Revenues in the half year to the end of June 2024 fell by 30% to £2.22 million, which Proteome said was mainly down to reagent orders being delayed ahead of the launch of new plexDIA tags.

Now available, orders have recovered in its latest quarter a trend Proteome expects to continue into the next three months.

Losses before tax for the six months were £2.15 million (2023: £547,000) with cash and equivalents at £1.2 million.

Shares fell 17% to 2.88p.
