OTC Markets Group Inc. (OTCQX:OTCM) has officially launched OTC Overnight, allowing a select group of securities to be traded from Sunday through Thursday between 8 pm and 4 am Eastern Time.
The new trading window will enhance market accessibility, transparency, and data coverage by leveraging existing infrastructure, enabling broker-dealer subscribers to meet the growing demand for overnight trading.
A select group of active securities, including liquid American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) of companies like adidas, Heineken, and Roche Holding, along with ordinary shares of well-known companies such as Bombardier (TSX:BBD.A) and Air Canada (TSX:AC.B), are now available for trading during overnight sessions on OTC Link NQB, an SEC-regulated Alternative Trading System.
The company, which lists over 12,000 US and global securities, plans to expand the number of eligible securities in the near future.
"OTC Overnight will provide a transparent, competitive, and cost-effective market to support the growing needs of investors, broker-dealers, and issuers," said Matt Fuchs, executive vice president of market data at OTC Markets Group. "It is an important step in furthering our company’s mission to create better informed and more efficient markets."
The service was first announced in May, with the company highlighting the proposed hours and the types of securities that would be eligible at launch.
The expansion into overnight trading comes as innovative broker-dealers seek to improve the trading experience and accessibility for global investors particularly those in the US and Asia.
