NCC Group jumps as cybersecurity outperformance sees guidance upped

NCC Group PLC (LSE:NCC) climbed over 10% on Thursday morning after raising guidance on the back of an expectation-beating performance from its cybersecurity business.

Operating profit for the four months to September is now expected to be around the £6 million mark, against £3.5 million previously eyed, NCC said in a statement.

This would mark a jump from a £1 million loss over the period last year, with revenue also expected at £104 million, rather than the £100 million originally thought.

Chief executive Mike Maddison said margins had improved following cuts made last year as part of the technology firm’s transformation plan, with the cybersecurity division also outdoing expectations during what is typically a quieter period in August.

“We continue to simplify our business, aligning ourselves to our client needs in a competitive marketplace, to generate profitable revenue growth and sustainable gross margins,” he said.

Shares climbed 10.2% to 167p.
