Silver North Resources (TSX-V:SNAG, OTCQB:TARSF) has kicked off its 2024 drilling campaign at the Haldane property in Yukon’s historic Keno Hill Silver District, the company announced Tuesday.
The program will involve approximately 1,000 metres of drilling across three holes, targeting the West Fault, Main Fault, and Bighorn areas.
“This is an exciting time for Silver North shareholders as we await the analytical results from Tim and now are drilling three high priority targets at Haldane,” CEO Jason Weber said in a statement.
“We aim to build on the strike and down dip extents at West Fault, attempt to intersect the Main Fault at depth and build on the only hole testing the Bighorn target.”
Drilling at the West Fault will focus on expanding high-grade silver mineralization discovered in prior campaigns, including an intersection of 3.14 metres (true width) averaging 1,351 grams per tonne (g/t) silver, 2.43% lead, and 2.91% zinc. The fault structure has been traced along a 650-metre strike length and is believed to extend up to 1.1 kilometers.
The program includes a step-out hole approximately 50 meters southwest of the high-grade mineralization found in hole HLD21-24 and another test hole 190 meters along strike to the southwest. The latter will target both the West and Main Faults, probing deeper into these structures.
Drilling at the Bighorn target will focus on following up on a 2019 intersection that identified silver-bearing vein mineralization. The previous hole returned 2.35 meters averaging 125 g/t silver and 4.39% lead, and the current campaign will test along strike to the north.
The Haldane property, spanning 8,579 hectares, hosts numerous silver-lead-zinc-bearing quartz siderite veins, consistent with mineralization throughout the Keno Hill district.
