Talks are reportedly ongoing over a stake sale which would value the Aston Martin Formula One team at over £1.5 billion.
US-based HPS Investment Partners and Silicon Valley’s Accel are said to be nearing deals to invest in the motor racing team’s holding company, according to Sky News.
Worth hundreds of millions of pounds, the investment would value Aston Martin F1 at between £1.5 billion and £2 billion, sources said.
The duo are expected to collectively purchase 20% to 25% of Aston Martin’s parent, AMR GP Holdings Limited, with an announcement reportedly due “shortly”.
This would include an agreement by HPS to refinance debt linked to Aston Martin F1's technology campus, which opened at Silverstone last year.
Such a deal would mark the latest stake sale overseen by majority shareholder Lawrence Stroll, after an investment by Arctos Partners was agreed last year.
Stroll, whose son Lance races for the team alongside two-time world champion Fernando Alonso, has headed the F1 team since 2020 and also owns the Aston Martin road car business.
