Elon Musk is on course to become the first trillionaire in the world by 2027, according to a report from Informa Connect Academy.
With a net worth of US$251 billion (£191 billion), Musk is currently the world’s richest person.
His wealth has been growing at an average rate of 110% annually though, according to education solutions firm Informa, placing the Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) owner on track to be worth over a trillion dollars in the next three years.
This would be aided by Tesla’s own growth, which Informa placed at 173% per year.
Electric car giant Tesla could fetch a US$1 trillion valuation by next year as a result, Informa noted.
Musk also controls SpaceX, neurotechnology firm Neuralink, tunnel construction firm The Boring Company and bought X, previously Twitter, in 2022.
His rise to a trillionaire would see him hit the milestone ahead of NVIDIA Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA, ETR:NVD) chief executive Jensen Huang and Indonesian mining mogul Prajogo Pangestu, which Informa said were on course to reach the mark in 2028.
