Revolution Bars appoints Luke Johnson as executive chair after completing restructuring

Revolution Bars Group PLC (AIM:RBG) has appointed Luke Johnson as its new executive chairman, installing the former Pizza Express and Patisserie Valerie chair in the role after completing a financial restructuring in the past few weeks.

Johnson took part in the £12.5 million equity fundraising that the bars and gastropubs chain completed last Monday, giving him a 20% stake.

Keith Edelman, who is being replaced as chairman after almost a decade in the role, said "The time has come for me to step down. I leave knowing the company is now in a stronger position and fit for purpose in today's marketplace."

Chief executive Rob Pitcher said the company is "excited to be working with Luke who is vastly experienced in the Hospitality sector and brings a wealth of knowledge to enable the next phase of the group's development".

Johnson's private equity firm Risk Capital Partners has current stakes in All Star Lanes, Brighton Pier and Brompton Bicycles, having sold off upmarket bakery Gail's in 2021.
