Standard Uranium identifies anomalous radioactivity at Wishbone target

Standard Uranium Ltd (TSX-V:STND, OTCQB:STTDF) said drilling at Sun Dog has identified anomalous radioactivity at the Wishbone target.

The company announced the completion of its latest drilling program at the Sun Dog Uranium Project near Uranium City, Saskatchewan.

The program, funded by Aero Energy under a three-year earn-in option agreement, aimed to explore high-grade basement-hosted uranium deposits at the newly identified Wishbone target.

Standard Uranium drilled 1,593 meters across eight holes at the Wishbone site, targeting shallow basement-hosted uranium.

According to a release from Standard Uranium, seven of the eight holes revealed anomalous radioactivity exceeding 300 counts per second (cps), a promising sign for further exploration.

The project, located 15 kilometers southeast of Uranium City, covers 48,443 acres and includes the historical Gunnar Uranium Mine, once a significant global uranium producer.

“The results provide proof of concept for our exploration model, and we look forward to following up in this area with additional geophysical surveys and drilling to vector into a new high-grade discovery," Sean Hillacre, president and vice president exploration at Standard Uranium said.

The McNie and Spring Dome target areas near Wishbone offer additional kilometers of promising strike length with surface uranium showings that have yet to be tested using modern exploration methods, Hillacre added.

The company is now planning follow-up drilling and geophysical surveys, with assay results from the initial program pending.

Standard Uranium expects to further explore the mineralized zones along strike and test additional regional targets.

Drill core samples have been sent for U3O8 assay and geochemical analysis, and future drill targets will be prioritized based on the results.

The company has also released a new video showcasing the progress it is making at Sun Dog.
