Thor Explorations Ltd (TSX-V:THX, AIM:THX, OTC:THXPF) has reported positive results from its ongoing drilling program at the Douta Gold Project in Senegal.
The focus has been on the Makosa East Prospect, located parallel to the main Makosa mineralised trend - this area remains outside the current resource estimate, which is currently 1.78 million ounces of gold.
Latest drill results include notable intersections, such as 32 metres at 1.76 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from surface and 12 metres at 1.51 g/t gold from 40 metres.
The drilling is part of Thor’s strategy to increase the oxide gold resources at Makosa East and to infill drill at the Makosa North, Mansa, and Maka prospects.
“We are encouraged by these results from a new prospect outside the existing resource base. The results are close to surface and remain open at depth,” chief executive Segun Lawson said in a statement.
“The Makosa East Prospect now has a strike length of over 1.5 kilometres, and we look forward to receiving the remaining outstanding results from the vicinity of the current known deposits.”
